SOUND Pesticide Research Act
Summary:
• The "SOUND Pesticide Research Act" amends the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act to require the EPA Administrator to rely on data from multigenerational reproductive toxicity studies of at least 4 generations of test species when making pesticide chemical residue tolerance decisions.
• Within 180 days of enactment, the EPA Administrator must review all existing pesticide chemical residue tolerance determinations to verify they are supported by qualifying data.
• Within 2 years of enactment, the EPA Administrator must submit a report to Congress identifying each determination that was reviewed, updated, or changed as a result of this law.
