American Quantum Competitiveness Act
Summary:
• Directs the Secretary of Commerce to serve as the principal presidential advisor on quantum technology commercial policy and to promote U.S. commercial leadership in quantum technology, including supporting manufacturing, deployment, and private sector investment.
• Requires the Secretary to promote "trusted quantum supply chains" — sourcing critical quantum components from the U.S. or allied suppliers — while identifying barriers to investment and assessing/reducing risks from components supplied by "covered nations."
• Mandates the Secretary to publish a national strategy report within 2 years (and every 3 years thereafter) covering actions taken, emerging risks, a comprehensive strategy, and legislative recommendations related to quantum technology competitiveness.
