BEDROCK Act
Summary:
• The BEDROCK Act directs the Secretary of Commerce to designate a senior official to lead U.S. biomanufacturing competitiveness activities, including identifying supply-chain vulnerabilities, barriers to private sector investment, and opportunities to strengthen domestic production capacity.
• The Secretary must conduct biennial assessments of critical biomanufacturing input availability, foreign adversary reliance, and supply-chain vulnerabilities, and produce a prioritized action plan based on findings.
• The bill requires creation of a public Federal commercialization pathway map for biomanufactured products and mandates that FDA and EPA each designate points of contact to help non-Federal entities navigate relevant regulatory processes.
