Strengthening Protections for Children with Food Allergies Act
Summary:
• Amends the Child Nutrition Act of 1966 to require food allergy training for certain school nutrition personnel, covering prevention, recognition, and response to allergic reactions (including epinephrine administration), allergen communication, cross-contact avoidance, and food substitutions
• Extends this food allergy training availability to personnel in the special milk program, summer food service program for children, and the child and adult care food program, with training provided in non-English languages and accessible formats for people with disabilities
• Requires the Secretary to develop and disseminate evidence-based nutrition education materials on food allergies for WIC-eligible individuals, including pregnant women, postpartum individuals, infants, and children with food allergies
