Strengthening Oversight for the Financial Sector Act of 2026
Summary:
• Amends the Federal Credit Union Act to modify requirements for regulating and examining credit union organizations and service providers, including changes to notification procedures and removal of a subsection.
• Grants the Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency authority to regulate and examine service providers that perform activities on behalf of regulated entities or the Office of Finance, to the same extent as if those entities performed the activities themselves.
• Requires regulated entities or the Office of Finance to notify the Director of any service provider relationship within thirty days of the contract or performance of the activity, whichever occurs first.
