Access to School Supplies Act of 2026
Summary:
• Directs the Secretary of Education to run a competitive pilot grant program awarding funds to up to 10 qualified local educational agencies annually to help purchase school supplies for students and instructional staff at no cost to them
• Eligibility is limited to local educational agencies serving high-poverty schools (those in the highest two quartiles based on low-income student enrollment), with grant priority given to agencies demonstrating the highest level of need
• Authorizes $100 million per year for fiscal years 2027–2031, with the program sunsetting after September 30, 2031
