Government Travel Transparency Act
Summary:
• Directs the Comptroller General to report to Congress quarterly on federal aircraft use by covered officials, identifying travel related to federal elections or political activities and whether the government was reimbursed, as well as personal travel where a cheaper transportation option existed.
• Covered officials include the President, Vice President, and named Cabinet secretaries and agency heads (24 officials total).
• Reports must be published on the Government Accountability Office website, use GSA Travel Reporting Tool data, and must not disclose a covered official's location at a specified time.
