Better Pay for American Workers Act
Summary:
• The "Better Pay for American Workers Act" amends the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 to increase the federal minimum wage in steps: $15.00/hour (2027), $17.50/hour (2028), and $20.00/hour (2029)
• Beginning January 1, 2030, the minimum wage would be adjusted annually by the Secretary based on the annual percentage increase in the median hourly wage of all employees, as determined by the Bureau of Labor Statistics
• The annually adjusted wage must be rounded to the nearest $0.05 and cannot be lower than the previously established rate
