Summary:
• Establishes a competitive federal grant program providing funds to local educational agencies (LEAs) to reduce class sizes in kindergarten through grade 3 at public schools with the highest concentrations of students eligible for free or reduced price lunch
• Grants are awarded for 5-year periods, with at least 97% of funds used for class size reduction activities such as hiring certified teachers, obtaining/renovating classroom space (capped at 15%), and professional development (capped at 15%)
