H.R. 10805
Don’t Block LGBTQ Act of 2026
Summary:
• The "Don't Block LGBTQ Act of 2026" prohibits elementary schools, secondary schools, and public libraries that receive universal service discounted internet services from blocking internet access to LGBTQ resources
• Schools or libraries that block such resources would lose eligibility for discounted rates under the universal service schools and libraries program, regardless of their internet safety policies
• The bill defines "lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer resources" as information related to homosexuality, bisexuality, transgender identity, gender identity, sexual orientation, and related topics, explicitly excluding certain visual depictions already addressed elsewhere in existing law
