Summary:
• Prohibits the use of federal funds to purchase, deploy, or operate automated mass surveillance systems, including automatic license plate readers, biometric surveillance systems, and facial recognition technology
• Requires agencies, states, and local governments using federal funds to remove such systems within 30 days of enactment and permanently delete all related data within 7 days
• Makes states and local governments ineligible for Byrne and COPS grant program funding unless they certify they do not maintain or operate any automated mass surveillance systems
