Crow Tribe Water Rights Settlement Amendments Act of 2025
Summary:
• Amends the Crow Tribe Water Rights Settlement Act of 2010 to restructure how Municipal, Rural, and Industrial (MR&I) water infrastructure is funded and managed, replacing the prior "MR&I System" framework with an "MR&I Projects" framework
• Creates a new MR&I Projects Account within the Crow Settlement Fund, with funds to be used by the Tribe for planning, designing, constructing, operating, or repairing water production, treatment, delivery, and wastewater infrastructure on the Reservation
• Extends a Yellowtail Dam-related provision from 15 years to 20 years and specifies that title to and control over any MR&I Project infrastructure remains with the Tribe, with no federal obligation for operation, maintenance, or replacement costs
