Earth MRI Reauthorization Act of 2026
Summary:
• Reauthorizes the Earth Mapping Resources Initiative (Earth MRI) for fiscal years 2027 through 2031, extending it from the previous 2022–2026 authorization period
• Expands the Initiative's purpose to include data from modern sensing technologies such as digital geochemistry, advanced geochemical characterization methods, real-time data acquisition systems, and data-driven analytical methods for characterizing critical mineral, geothermal, natural hydrogen, and other subsurface resource systems
• Adds the 3D Hydrography Program to the list of data sources to be integrated under the Initiative
