Rural and Municipal Utility Cybersecurity Act
Summary:
• Reauthorizes the Rural and Municipal Utility Advanced Cybersecurity Grant and Technical Assistance Program to provide funding and technical assistance to eligible electric utilities to protect against, detect, respond to, and recover from cybersecurity threats
• Eligible entities include rural electric cooperatives, municipally owned electric utilities, not-for-profit entities partnered with at least 6 such utilities, and investor-owned utilities selling less than 4,000,000 megawatt hours per year
• Authorizes $250,000,000 for the program for fiscal years 2027 through 2031
